This week, I came back to raiding. This is part of my Cataclysm preparation, because as you know, I came back to the game recently, so it's good for me to start reliving everything again. Since I returned, I've probably been spending more time handling all my stocks and gold than anything else, so I'm now trying something "new". (Raiding posts may be reborn!)

Diversifying has been the key to not becoming insane. I've been doing PvP (even though I'm a noob), raids, mount hunting (got my Albino Drake now), and my auctions are still selling at the same rate, which shows me that I probably shouldn't have been spending so much time looking at Auctioneers in Orgrimmar. Gold is my main passion, but I'm moderating my behaviour now.

I know Cataclysm is getting close, and sometimes it feels that time isn't enough because November 2nd is only a month and a half away, but why not relax a bit and prevent yourself from getting burned before it arrives?

In case you're going through the same, take my words for it, try new waters, they're still as refreshing as making gold like a mad man, even if you're too greedy like a certain person.

After a few days of endless AH investigations, I have found that many markets are based on dull principles (at least in my point of view). Lots of them have pseudo-barons that flood like maniacs and usually buy the items from whoever posts in their domain so they can be the only ones selling. Maybe they're not so pseudo in the end, because they should actually make gold from such a technique, but guess what I've been having fun with!

The gem markets (both Rare and Epic ones), the Metals market (both Ores and Bars), even some aspects the Inscription Markets! I had a lot of fun posting stuff way over the cheapest price, and they all sold. They would either sell because Mr. Baron bought them, or because the cheapest ones sold and Mr. Baron wasn't paying attention, so mine sold afterwards. Either way I had 100% guaranteed sales at excellent prices, especially from 9 PM to 3 AM (it seems this is the absolute peak on my server every night). I guess I could call myself the King of the Night.

I really shine at the AH at night!

Remember to always search for the flaws in your server's markets!

Too Greedy seems to be missed by quite a few people (thank you loyal followers!), and I came back to WoW recently so I might aswell make this work again. Quick recap: I'm on the server Karazhan-EU, and I'm trying to prepare for Cataclysm, while gathering a few coins in the process. I've gone mad for gold again, and the AH has been my playground for a whole week. The glyph market doesn't seem as profittable anymore, and I'm ashamed to say that I only had Inscription and JC for a good while because my toons are now spread across a few European servers and right now (on Karazhan) I only got those 2. My goal is to have some more professions as quick as possible so I can expand to more markets, because Cataclysm is on its way. Yep, I've been a slacker! But I'm trying to correct it now, and this is how I'm standing:

Surprised I'm this poor? I lost money during the server transfer. 20K was the limit and I brough the rest in item value. Some items were missing, I bought some vanity stuff just for fun, and some other lame stuff happened (and the GMs didn't fix it), and I was down to the 10K-ish level again. Not complaining, just looking forward to take a lesson out of this, and I have already made a few coins just from a couple of days of looking around the AH (still trying to raise my pace, so to speak). All the markets have changed a lot since the last time I played and I'm still trying to adapt.

WoW is different and I'm feeling that Cataclysm will be huge, and I'm working hard on catching the same wave as the whole Gold Making Community. I've even been re-reading the whole JMTC Forums again just so I could remember lots of useful stuff I forgot!

Now, it is just a matter of time.

On another note, what do you think about the whole revamp around here? Need feedback on everything you see on this page!

After all my game sessions, I mail the stuff I don't need to my lower level Paladin, who is my Bank Alt at the moment. Posting all the stuff on the AH might seem like an endless job, but it's not. All thanks to Auctioneer and its Appraiser part.

If the video is hard to understand, here are the details of all you have to do.

1. What you need is Auctioneer, and goods to sell.

2. At the AH, do a complete scan of all the auctions. The time it takes varies, depending on your PC and depending on if you choose a quick scan, or a normal scan.

3. After the scan is complete, click on the 'Appraiser' tab, on the bottom of the AH Window. This will bring up a new window with options like Stack Size, Number of Stacks, Batch Posting, etc. What you want to do, is select the items you want to sell on the list on the left of the window (this has to be done one by one, but it's really easy). Then, just choose your stack size, and click 'Enable Batch Posting' (the price should be set to Market Price already, so you probably don't have to worry with that).

  • 3.1. What stack size should you choose?

That depends on what item you're selling, and how many of those items people use for their professions (or any other purpose). Let me show you some examples.

    *Metal Bars
People use these for Blacksmithing mainly. What you have to do is find out the most popular BS recipes and set your bar stack size accordingly. If it doesn't work, sell them 1 by 1, as it's most likely to sell rather than in full stacks. And you can often raise the price a bit if you're selling them 1 by 1. Why? Because people who only need 2 bars prefer to buy 2 bars costing 10g each, than buying a full stack costing 150g. Wouldn't you do the same if you were the buyer?

*Unidentified Plant Parts (check them out in the Video)
These can be handed in for reputation in Zangarmarsh, in stacks of 10. So, what stack size do you think people will buy the most? Of course, any multiple of 10. 10, 20, 30, 100...You choose.

 4. After all the details on the Appraiser tab are decided, and every item you want to sell is 'Enable Batch Posting' ticked, just Ctrl + Alt + Shift + Click the 'Batch Post' button, and the items will be posted automatically.

And that's it. If you have any question, let me know below!
I'm done with Zangarmarsh (no achievement, though!), and have now moved on to Nagrand. I probably won't complete Nagrand Slam either, but who knows. And now that we're talking about achievements, I would also like to complete PvP achievements. There's only one problem: I cannot find any alliance player! If I find a couple a week I'm lucky!

You may say, just go do a BG and problem solved. No, it's not that simple. Battlegrounds take ages to start (last night, I was on the queue to AV for over 2 hours!), and when it's time to go in, I usually have to log off. That's what happens when you go to a low population realm/battlegroup, so take this as a lesson. Always try and do some research on where you're re-rolling before you actually start leveling a new character. Don't be a fool like me.

Hey, but this post is not just shameless whining about how unaware I was. I will still pull my weight when it comes to achieving other stuff, even if PvP isn't that acessible. The Auction House has got nearly 20,000 items every day, which isn't bad at all, I think. That's where I'm aiming, besides doing some PvE action of course! And it has been working well so far, with low level mats, and random stuff that I get while questing.

However, I don't play much at the moment because RL doesn't allow, so these goals may take a good while to fulfill. But they will be fulfilled!
I always need more points. Both XP points and talent points. I also need coins...loads of the gold ones, preferably. Let's talk about all these things!

Talents

I was using a Blood/Unholy spec when I started my DK, but after a comment from a reader (Jenna) a few days ago, I reviewed it, and realized it had many flaws. I have now changed it and this how it currently looks like:

http://eu.wowarmory.com/character-talents.xml?r=Karazhan&cn=Carneirito

I decided not to choose Dancing Rune Weapon because I rarely use it, and I tried to maximise the damage, by raising Strength, and raising the damage of the spells I use the most, like Heart Strike. I also decided to remove a few points I had put in the Frost tree previously as they weren't that much of a help. Right now, at level 65, I'm focusing on the Unholy tree, as I think the Blood one is quite good, and I'm aiming to go as far as the Unholy Blight spell level (is that even possible? Haven't done the Maths ^^).

Coins!

The income is being quite good actually. I am now sitting on 500g with close to no AH effort, which is amazing. Here are some screenshots of my banker's current AH situation (remember, I still haven't leveled my professions much, so no high level mats yet!):

I think I'm doing good considering the few hours I played, and note that most of them were spent leveling the DK, who is only 65 still.

Comment below what you're thinking about my progress!

First week is over, and the results were satisfying considering I didn't play for a lot of time.

I was able to buy a flying mount (and the flying skill), which costed around 300 gold, I believe. This will ease questing a lot, and that means faster questing, thus faster leveling and gold gathering. I didn't buy the mount right away when I reached 300g because I didn't want to be too poor after buying it. I gathered around 150g extra so I could have backup money after this gold sink.

I have been questing a lot, and on this first week, and got this nice achievement:

Hellfire is complete, and I have now moved to Zangarmarsh, at level 63. I'm not expecting to complete the Mysteries of the Marsh achievement though, because I always seem to miss some quests and therefore I'm not able to do it.

I hope to reach 70 soon anyway, and I want to reach it fast, so I obviously won't complete all the 'complete X quests in (Zone) '. The faster the better; if I'm able to get achievements meanwhile, it's good...if I don't get achievements, I won't cry over it.
I have now reached 350 gold, just by questing and selling stuff in the AH. I sold several items, like:
  • Netheweave Cloth - These things drop like crazy in Hellfire Peninsula. This place is filled with humanoids and if you also do Ramparts and Blood Furnace, you'll get tons! I've raised a lot of money just from this cloth.
  • Arcane Dust - Now this is where the instances played their part. With the new Disenchant (instead of Greed) option, I've managed to get quite a few of these, and do they sell well in here.
  • Meat (Buzzard and Ravager) - If you have quested in Hellfire before, you sure know the crazy amount of Ravagers and Buzzards you have to kill for some quests. I have gathered a lot of meat from both these kinds of beasts.
But leveling isn't just about the gold I earn. It's about enjoying the game as a whole, and I am really enjoying doing this all over again. I'm also learning how to play a DK, and I think I'm doing well, or maybe I'm just being fooled by the number of Alliance people I have beaten, or the number of instances where I have been first on the DPS charts. Each new level I acquire means I get new skills for my DK and it has been a real challenge to find the best skill rotations (I'm Blood, by the way). I'm still far from perfect, but I think I'm in a good way to success.

Besides mentioning my gold goals, I'll also try and acquire as many nice achievements as I can. Perhaps I'll even find new stuff that I have never noticed! Meanwhile, I will also get my 2 Professions leveled; really boring farming sessions incoming!

Anything I'm missing? Let me know below!
And so it began. On the first few days I couldn't do much besides questing a lot, to get money and XP. I haven't focused on professions yet, because I want to get to higher levels first. Being a DK has been an amazing experience, and I'm finding it a nice class to play (I used to dislike it, don't know why!).

Gold wise, I have currently got just above 100g. It's definitely not much, as I haven't tried to sold my 'white' items yet. I don't even know if I will be disappointed with the economy. No rush though, as I'm aiming to start small . When I get higher amounts of gold, I'll start making money big time. Just wait and see!

Have you got any tips on DKs you'd like to give to me? Comment below!
And off I went to a new server. RL doesn't allow me to raid as much anymore, and therefore the AH must be my main source of fun. A few friends migrated to Karazhan EU, and that's where I 'moved' too!

Now, I'm an Orc Death Knight (I also got a BE Paladin there, but it's only level 32) and as you may think, I'm starting from the bottom. No gold, no professions, nothing. How far will I able to play on some markets? Perhaps it's too early to think about that. Maybe I should level some professions first...but I won't be able to powerlevel them because I have no money. And I haven't even opened an AH window yet!

What does this mean? I will post about this new journey from now on, and perhaps 2G will be changed graphically too (that Orc over there is tired of being in the same place for a long time).

So, I have abandoned my previous characters (the Warrior, the Shaman...) for now, and started something new on a new server. Stay tuned if you're curious about my new journey, and give your feedback about specific things you'd like to read about!
Time for more updates! This week, I've had some fun both in ToC and the AH. I found that resetting the prices for glyphs isn't risky because there are close to no goblins at all, and the ones who try to goblinize the market only show up every 5 days or so. Still, it's been kind of a slow income...but steady. I can now be sure to make around 1,000 gold each day if I do my work correctly and timely (craft, post, cancel, post), based on my competition's behaviour. This is definitely my favourite kind of PvP, and the most profittable too!

Raiding wise, no new gear for me, mainly because I haven't had much time to raid. Damn you, real life. The only raid I've done is a 'fun' ToC. By 'fun' I mean those raids when people decide to get together and wipe on every encounter 10 times before being successful...just for 'fun'. Still, it was better than sitting in Dalaran doing nothing. I find myself just running around there randomly...do you do this too?

I'm probably resuming raiding next Monday, so perhaps I'll get to see new stuff if I'm lucky!

Video 2G Updates have been short so far, and that's how I want them to be. For more detailed info, you just have to read the blog post :)
My gear is significantly better since my last update. I finally got a new mace, a new ring, and a new totem.

My performances have been rising in quality also. A few days ago, I've even reached 5,000 HPS on ToC 25 Heroic (a very good achievement for me). With all these upgrades, I'm also able to reach 3,000 Spell Power when I'm fully buffed and flasked. Things are working good for me, and I'm starting to enjoy playing again, now that I've got more time.

My guild's progress has improved also. We've finally killed Yogg-Saron on 25 man, and we're clearing every Normal Mode currently available in the game every Wednesday and Thursday, which allows us to go for Hard Modes on Mondays (our 3rd raid day).

That's it for the raiding updates. Now, onto even more shiny things: gold coins. The glyph market on the Horde is definitely worth it, just like on the Alliance. The glyphs have usually higher prices than they did on the Alliance, and they actually sell very often. The competition isn't very strong also, so I'm lucky once again!

Here's a partial example of a few hours after my posting session:

 The total income was 543g.

(Oh, the accent!)

Yes, some glyphs sell for over 30-40g, and those are not even fallback prices! I'm digging deeper and deeper onto the glyph market every day, and my total glyph posting should reach 500 soon like they did on the Alliance. I still haven't got rid of the laziness and haven't really tried to even go mill "a few" herbs now that I'm over 50k gold. I've lost some of my momentum, but my regular income from glyphs is usually around 500g per posting session (only 200ish glyphs), which covers my raiding costs easily. Maybe I'll get going for 100k if I get the motivation for it soon. Until then, sorry, but don't expect those nice profits over 2k.

That is all for now! Things are definitely looking good.
My gear is now better. I have managed to craft [Ensorcelled Nerubian Breastplate], and I also won [Bracers of the Cloudy Omen]. The breastplate is now enchanted with +10 Stats, and gemmed with Reckless Ametrine (+12 SP/+10 Haste), Quick Dragon's Eye (+34 Haste), and Forceful Eye of Zul (+10 Haste/+15 Stamina). The bracers are enchanted with +30 SP of course.

However, my gear still feels strange. Both my trinkets are iLevel 200 (Heroic instance quality), because I can't find better ones to drop. But despite of their iLevel, they're amazing (one has a chance of +500 mana on spellcast, and the other has a chance of +500 haste), and that's why I haven't really bothered with getting anything better, although I'm hoping for some trinket love in ToC.

Another issue is the quality of my rings. They're both from Naxxramas 25 (iLevel 213). And I'm never lucky enough to be able to acquire better rings (don't say "Use Emblems of Triumph", because I'm saving them for T9 Leggings, the ones which cost 75 Emblems + Trophy of the Crusade).

Luck hasn't been with me when there are trinkets or rings in the loot list of a boss, and that's what's making me fall behind on gear score (note that I don't fall behind on the skill meter). I won't say the RNG hates me, because I've been getting nice upgrades on the past few weeks, but hey, better trinkets/rings would be nice too!
This post follows yesterday's post regarding my sales. The auctions I posted are now over; many sold, many expired without a single bid...

After some undercutting and cancelling-reposting, here are the results:

104 auctions sold total.

First batch of 50:
...
Second batch of 50:
 ...
And the last 4:

Total:
It was a great day for a salesman who's just come back to his game at the AH. 2,570 gold per day means 17,990g a week! Nice, a mammoth a week! Nah, I'm too greedy to buy a mammoth for now. Perhaps when I reach the gold cap.
What do you think of this day of sales? Good? Could be higher...? Of course it could. Next sales report: maybe next week! And here's a little something from what I'm cooking:

Yep, over 430 items - Glyphs and gems!
(and 430 is not the highest number yet!)
So, now I'm slowly getting more time to play and from now on, I'll start being part of the glyph market more often. I also got some gems crafted for this, but this is more of a bonus; it's not a market I can say I know deeply (for now).

Multiply the number of items on the picture by 2, and that's the amount I posted. 250-300 auctions up at a given time, which I kept cancelling-reposting during some time. Competitors often get bored of this and I stay on top for a few hours. Of course I prefer selling the glyphs that cost more than 10-20g, but anything above 4g (my threshold) is fine; after all, it's profit.

Glyphs are always selling, day or night. Every hour, glyphs sell, even at late night (except for maintenance days ^^); it's incredible.

Can't say the same about gems. I mean, I sell one or two during the day, but the real gem selling Christmas is at around 22.00-23.00 PM, the time when raids end and people hurry to the AH and gem themselves up.

So, what will I do to attempt getting a spot in the gem market wonders?

I'll prospect some leftover stacks from the 3.2 rush, which are still in my Guild Bank.

After that, I'll cut all the gems (both rare and epic) that I get, and list them with a cap of 2. Let's wait and see how that works.

By the time I'm writing this, everything's posted. Keep in mind this is just a partial selling day, as I didn't really get going full throttle as a salesman.

The final results? Check them out, in tomorrow's post!
I had an awesome time with a GM who talked with me today, see the conversation here.

He was indeed a very nice guy! :)

Note for feed readers: This is not today's scheduled post. Today's post is "Business results today".
Today's results from selling gems and glyphs, and also a couple of stacks of Titanium Ore, but they were posted accidentally (lol):

Whoever is still reluctant to believe these 2 professions are profittable, the proof you're wrong is right before your eyes. And this was low profitting, because I only posted a few gems and glyphs!
Inscription isn't hard to level up and you get your money back as you do it (I made a guide for scribes a few days ago). JC is quite expensive to level up, but after you get there, it's an endless source of money. There are people re-glyphing and re-gemming every day, it's crazy.
If you're not sure if you should level these professions, I hope you get the motivation you need to do it with these screenshots ;)
Should I have sold all my Titanium Ores long ago? Perhaps, but I was too greedy...
After upgrading my gear with [Leggings of the Weary Mystic] and [Nobundo's Spaulders of Conquest], as you can tell from my Armoury, I am now the 7th on gear score in my guild, and the #1 Healer. I'm really happy with this accomplishment! :D

On the last few days I've been prospecting some Titanium Ore, and got quite a few epic gems now which I haven't posted yet. I'm using them for my own gear still, and I'll cut and list them soon. I haven't had much time for auctioneering, but one thing that's been working for me is cutting gems for people in Trade. For 30-50g a gem! And damn, is it easy money. I make 200g minimum per day just with this!

Money making has been slow because I haven't been able to play for long periods, and I also make an effort to pop on the JMTC Forum and here, so it's a tight schedule. Expect a rise of money and raiding related posts in a few days or so. This short time schedule won't last much longer.

Have a nice Sunday! :)
Yesterday was a very good day for me. In 3 hours, a lot of good things happened:

1) I made about 2k gold selling glyphs (and some are still in the mailbox because they sold after I logged out).

2) I did Utgarde Keep Heroic with an amazing PuG. It was the daily heroic, and I'm now only 6 [Emblems of Triumph] away from my T9 shoulders (Nobundo's Shoulderguards of Conquest)

3) I reached level 70 on my mage. (Thanks to the amazing Ding80 Leveling Guide)
I got his professions to a Northrend skill level also. (Tailoring and Enchanting)

And last, but not least:

I discovered a nice place to farm Icy Dragonscales - The Primordial Hatchlings in Sholazar Basin. They have a 25-30% chance of dropping the Scales and these Scales are currently selling for a lot of money (just like Nerubian Chitin) because of the Ulduar patterns that require these. If you need quick money just pop to that place and you'll get quite a few scales easily and very quickly.

It was a great day. And I can't wait for my new shoulders in 3 days!
Hope you find the farming place helpful. ;)
