The return of Slightly Funny Wednesdays brings you the story of 10 Death Knights, whose boredom leaded them to an unusual achievement.

I found it amazingly funny, because it is the ultimate proof of how overpowered the DK class can be if played correctly.

What did you think? :)
I'm done with Zangarmarsh (no achievement, though!), and have now moved on to Nagrand. I probably won't complete Nagrand Slam either, but who knows. And now that we're talking about achievements, I would also like to complete PvP achievements. There's only one problem: I cannot find any alliance player! If I find a couple a week I'm lucky!

You may say, just go do a BG and problem solved. No, it's not that simple. Battlegrounds take ages to start (last night, I was on the queue to AV for over 2 hours!), and when it's time to go in, I usually have to log off. That's what happens when you go to a low population realm/battlegroup, so take this as a lesson. Always try and do some research on where you're re-rolling before you actually start leveling a new character. Don't be a fool like me.

Hey, but this post is not just shameless whining about how unaware I was. I will still pull my weight when it comes to achieving other stuff, even if PvP isn't that acessible. The Auction House has got nearly 20,000 items every day, which isn't bad at all, I think. That's where I'm aiming, besides doing some PvE action of course! And it has been working well so far, with low level mats, and random stuff that I get while questing.

However, I don't play much at the moment because RL doesn't allow, so these goals may take a good while to fulfill. But they will be fulfilled!
I always need more points. Both XP points and talent points. I also need coins...loads of the gold ones, preferably. Let's talk about all these things!

Talents

I was using a Blood/Unholy spec when I started my DK, but after a comment from a reader (Jenna) a few days ago, I reviewed it, and realized it had many flaws. I have now changed it and this how it currently looks like:

I decided not to choose Dancing Rune Weapon because I rarely use it, and I tried to maximise the damage, by raising Strength, and raising the damage of the spells I use the most, like Heart Strike. I also decided to remove a few points I had put in the Frost tree previously as they weren't that much of a help. Right now, at level 65, I'm focusing on the Unholy tree, as I think the Blood one is quite good, and I'm aiming to go as far as the Unholy Blight spell level (is that even possible? Haven't done the Maths ^^).

Coins!

The income is being quite good actually. I am now sitting on 500g with close to no AH effort, which is amazing. Here are some screenshots of my banker's current AH situation (remember, I still haven't leveled my professions much, so no high level mats yet!):

I think I'm doing good considering the few hours I played, and note that most of them were spent leveling the DK, who is only 65 still.

Comment below what you're thinking about my progress!

First week is over, and the results were satisfying considering I didn't play for a lot of time.

I was able to buy a flying mount (and the flying skill), which costed around 300 gold, I believe. This will ease questing a lot, and that means faster questing, thus faster leveling and gold gathering. I didn't buy the mount right away when I reached 300g because I didn't want to be too poor after buying it. I gathered around 150g extra so I could have backup money after this gold sink.

I have been questing a lot, and on this first week, and got this nice achievement:

Hellfire is complete, and I have now moved to Zangarmarsh, at level 63. I'm not expecting to complete the Mysteries of the Marsh achievement though, because I always seem to miss some quests and therefore I'm not able to do it.

I hope to reach 70 soon anyway, and I want to reach it fast, so I obviously won't complete all the 'complete X quests in (Zone) '. The faster the better; if I'm able to get achievements meanwhile, it's good...if I don't get achievements, I won't cry over it.
I have now reached 350 gold, just by questing and selling stuff in the AH. I sold several items, like:
  • Netheweave Cloth - These things drop like crazy in Hellfire Peninsula. This place is filled with humanoids and if you also do Ramparts and Blood Furnace, you'll get tons! I've raised a lot of money just from this cloth.
  • Arcane Dust - Now this is where the instances played their part. With the new Disenchant (instead of Greed) option, I've managed to get quite a few of these, and do they sell well in here.
  • Meat (Buzzard and Ravager) - If you have quested in Hellfire before, you sure know the crazy amount of Ravagers and Buzzards you have to kill for some quests. I have gathered a lot of meat from both these kinds of beasts.
But leveling isn't just about the gold I earn. It's about enjoying the game as a whole, and I am really enjoying doing this all over again. I'm also learning how to play a DK, and I think I'm doing well, or maybe I'm just being fooled by the number of Alliance people I have beaten, or the number of instances where I have been first on the DPS charts. Each new level I acquire means I get new skills for my DK and it has been a real challenge to find the best skill rotations (I'm Blood, by the way). I'm still far from perfect, but I think I'm in a good way to success.

Besides mentioning my gold goals, I'll also try and acquire as many nice achievements as I can. Perhaps I'll even find new stuff that I have never noticed! Meanwhile, I will also get my 2 Professions leveled; really boring farming sessions incoming!

Anything I'm missing? Let me know below!
And so it began. On the first few days I couldn't do much besides questing a lot, to get money and XP. I haven't focused on professions yet, because I want to get to higher levels first. Being a DK has been an amazing experience, and I'm finding it a nice class to play (I used to dislike it, don't know why!).

Gold wise, I have currently got just above 100g. It's definitely not much, as I haven't tried to sold my 'white' items yet. I don't even know if I will be disappointed with the economy. No rush though, as I'm aiming to start small . When I get higher amounts of gold, I'll start making money big time. Just wait and see!

Have you got any tips on DKs you'd like to give to me? Comment below!
And off I went to a new server. RL doesn't allow me to raid as much anymore, and therefore the AH must be my main source of fun. A few friends migrated to Karazhan EU, and that's where I 'moved' too!

Now, I'm an Orc Death Knight (I also got a BE Paladin there, but it's only level 32) and as you may think, I'm starting from the bottom. No gold, no professions, nothing. How far will I able to play on some markets? Perhaps it's too early to think about that. Maybe I should level some professions first...but I won't be able to powerlevel them because I have no money. And I haven't even opened an AH window yet!

What does this mean? I will post about this new journey from now on, and perhaps 2G will be changed graphically too (that Orc over there is tired of being in the same place for a long time).

So, I have abandoned my previous characters (the Warrior, the Shaman...) for now, and started something new on a new server. Stay tuned if you're curious about my new journey, and give your feedback about specific things you'd like to read about!
